You got the diagnosis…now what?
Has your child recently been diagnosed with a disability? Are you struggling with how to advocate for your child’s educational needs, but you’re not sure how to navigate the IEP/IFSP/504 process? So many acronyms, and so little time to learn them all!
Whether your child is learning at home or in school, we can help!
Christine has years of experience working with neurodivergent children and their families.
As a former special educator teaching in a nonpublic school for children with autism and experience working as a BCBA in the field of ABA and the public school setting, I understand the stress that a new diagnosis can place on a family, and how difficult it can be to navigate the special education system. Add in the IFSP/IEP/504 process coupled with the jargon, acronyms, and accommodations parents are supposed to understand, and it can feel like you’re fighting a losing battle. And when it’s your child’s education and happiness, it’s a battle you want to win.
Training Wheels is proud to offer support to families of children with disabilities. Training Wheels is not legal advocacy, and the IEP decisions are yours to make, but we can help you understand what the IEP, IFSP, or 504 means and how the system works.
Whether your child has recently been diagnosed and you’re not sure what to do next or you’ve been in the system a few years and need help making sense of their IFSP or IEP, we can give you the support you need to navigate the system more smoothly and be a champion for your child’s success.
